Hello,
It appears that Cogent, one of our bandwidth providers within our network, is currently experiencing issues in California due to fiber cuts. This means routes/paths that typically travel through Cogent may be temporarily affected. This is impacting all datacenters and providers in California that utilize Cogent carrier.
The latest updates can be found directly on Cogent’s network status page using this URL: https://ecogent.cogentco.com/network-status — please feel free to follow this page for the latest updates from the source.
As of now, the latest update from Cogent is:
“Customers transiting our network on the west coast of North America may be experiencing Latency and Packet Loss. This is due to multiple fiber cuts in our vendors network around the Los Angeles area. Our vendors have been contacted and are currently dispatching to further investigate the outage. There is NO ETR at this time. The master case is HD303782528.”
As this is a major issue impacting many other datacenters within the west coast, we anticipate Cogent is working on this issue with top priority and the utmost urgency. We appreciate your patience.
Thank You,
